A CIIC is made up of a group of researchers from IOHE member universities and invited researchers, whose organizational structure and resarch topics are established by COLAM’s Superior Council.
First Chair: Parliamentary Strategies to Face Processes for Continental Integration
In 2000, the College of the Americas held an inter-American competition to select five professors who would participate in the research project of the First CIIC. The selection committee was composed of a group of prominent scholars from Canada, Costa Rica and Argentina.
The main objective of the First Research Chair was to identify and critically analyze the various dynamics of continental parliaments in terms of ongoing processes for economic, social and cultural integration.
